About the Book
The present Indian society is no longer a traditional society, but it is now being seen as a modern society. But the systemic changes brought about in the modern society by various planned measures also highlight the negative aspects of the results of the measures adopted. If the reservation policy is functional today and proves to be functional after two or three decades, then will the powerful elite be able to change it? If the movements run by the weaker sections of the society, farmers, women and youth are not stopped, then how will social discontent be suppressed? To evaluate all such cases, it is necessary that Indian society is presented along with the present and emerging societies. In this book, important aspects of various Indian social systems have been analyzed and reviewed keeping in view the contemporary differences, emerging elements and future perspective.
It is hoped that this book will prove useful and informative for postgraduate students of sociology as well as students appearing in various competitive examinations.
